Long Weekend
Just like in the US, we also had a long weekend this past weekend. But we did not celebrate Columbus Day in Brazil; on Oct 12th, we celebrate a Catholic holiday, but everyone gets the day off.
And nothing better than having friends over and a Brazilian barbecue to celebrate the 3 days weekend.
My parents and their friends are preparing their group for the Carnival 2010 and they had some people over to see pictures from last year and start making plans for the next year. But it is only an excuse to regroup and have some fun!
I decided not to travel anywhere and stayed at my parent's. It was a good opportunity to see my parents' friends that I haven't seen in almost 2 years. Also, I could see my Godparents and it is always good to hang out with them.
I'm sure that most of you don't know my Parents (in blue) and my Godparents, so here they are:

Hope you guys have had a great long weekend as well!

International Guest
Today was a gorgeous sunny day here in Santo Antonio do Pinhal. And to celebrate the day, nothing better than a very good friend from Michigan and a barbecue!
Kevin has been in Brazil many times before, but he was not so confident he could make the real Brazilian barbecue back at home by himself, so nothing better than a very good chef (my Dad) to give him some good tips... And yes, the meat was so yummy!
It was a very special day. It is always nice to see people we like and have a great time!

Rock Climbing
Hi Friends!
I've been busy lately searching jobs, trying to see all my old friends, catching up with family...
But last weekend I decided to enjoy my "vacation" and went to a city close to my parents, called São Bento do Sapucaí.
This city is known for having a huge rock where people come from everywhere to rock climbing. It's height is 1.950 meters (6.400 feet) and the view is breathtaking! Ah, and it's name is "Pedra do Baú".
My friend and I climbed all the stairs - yes, stairs attached to the rock, with no special equipments! -, reached the summit and enjoyed the amazing view from the top.
That was the second time I climbed the stairs to the top and now I promise that was the last time without protections and equipments.
When you get to the top and you realize how high the rock is, you also realize that you have to be a little bit insane to go up there using only your hands, arms and legs; no ropes, no cords, no helmets, no nothing!
Anyways, we made our way back safe.
Have a great week!

Fashion Weekend
Hello everyone!
After 18 months in ME, nothing better than a Fashion Week in Brazil to be updated about what is going on over here.
Lots of celebrities, shirtless hot guys and very important people... It was amazing!

It was good to see my very best friends again. I missed them a lot...

I had a great weekend! The weather was gorgeous, my friends said I look great (I've lost some pounds since I got back - love Brazilian food!) and I met some friends that I haven't seen in a long time. That's one of the reasons why it's so good to be back!
But I have to confess that I miss ME too...
Have a great week!

Sunny Day at Home
I'm wearing my wellies all the times to go outside and play with the dogs!
Yes, of course I brought my wellies back home; I love them!
I think you guys haven't seem my turtles yet.
This is Touche, The other one wasn't having a good hair day and didn't want to have her picture taken. I'll try again tomorrow.
Other than that, no news... But I'll keep you guys posted.

Independence Day
Today is a holiday here in Brazil too, it's our Independence Day.
Holiday in Brazil means traveling, especially when our winter brings us beautiful days and 86F. I decided not to travel and stay at home and enjoy the peace at my parent's house.
But today was not a so peaceful day. The dogs were barking since early in the morning. A little bit later we figured out why: a horse was stuck in a kind of "little tiny river" we have in our land.

After almost one hour and 6 or 7 men to help, they could take the horse out of the river. Thanks, God! The dogs were going crazy!

After that, a nap was more than necessary...
